Question:

December 5, 1999

Q. Where is the Boss in Angry Aztec? - Tozzie

A. All you have to do is find a Troff n' Scoff door (That's the one with the picture of the Pig and Hippo on it). There is one right by Candy's, Cranky's, and Funky's Shop.

Q. Where is Diddy's blueprint in Angry Aztec? - Matt

A. In the first Oasis that area you find (The one with the Llama's cage)on top of one of the trees is a Diddy barrel. Once you have gotten Diddy's Rocket Barrel Blast, jump into the barrel and fly to the top of the Temple where you found Tiny. Kasplat is up there.

Q. How do I get Tiny? - So Krazy

A. Tiny is in the temple in the first Oasis of Angry Aztec. Look for the switch on the side of the building with the peanut. Use Diddy's gun and go inside with him. Pound Diddy's switch and go to the top by jumping from tongue to tongue. Use the guitar on the switch to turn the ice to water. Jump in and swim until you find a place where Tiny is held. Chimpy Charge the switch with Diddy's face on it and then when the floor raises, charge the four letters of "KONG" in order.

Q. How do you move Diddy around when he's flying with his rocketbarrel? - Dan

A. Hold the ignition and press the direction you want to go.

Q. How do you get DK's blueprint in Gloomy Galleon? - unknown

A. In order to get DK's blueprint, find the door with the DK star on it. After you have used Enguarde to open the door, swim into their and change into Diddy. Use Diddy's Simian Spring to get to the top of the coin stack and play the Super Snoop Bonus game to get a 24K Banana. After you get the Banana, the "4" pad will show up on the top of the stack. Find the "4" in the main water area and warp to the stack with DK.

Random Comments

Q. I don't have a question but just wanted to let you know that DK64 froze up on me in the Boss battle of Gloomy Galleon, I had hit the boss 4 times them it froze upon getting my 2 DK star for the fifth hit. - Louver1966@aol.com

A. If anyone else notices this, be sure to let DK64 Central know so we can make sure to let you know. Maybe if you turn the game off once in a while...

Q. Where is Funky's Shop? -Way too many people

A. The easiest one to find is the one in Jungle Japes. Once you have gained entrance to the area by going to K. Lumsy's cage, go straight and follow through the cave. When you get to the "1" and "2" pads, take a left. On the right you will see a Giant rock sitting on an "X". Go to the right and jump into a water, you will see a vine climbing up the side of the mountain. Climb it to the to first level and Funky's Shop is right there.

Nintendo

Q: what kind of levels does dk64 have? Level where you from beginingt to end or levels like mario64 or bk?
-eric danils

A: They all full 3-d like BK and mario 64.

Nintendo

Q: Any news on the anticipated cost on DK64?.
-Don F

A: I am not sure yet of the total price. I have heard $59.99 and $54.99. Which ever price it will be, the expansion pack is included.

Nintendo

Q: How many different types of levels are ther going to be? So far I have heard of jungle and snow.

A: From looking at the different screenshots it looks like there are many different types. Besides the ones you mentioned I see a desert and minecart levels. There also looks like a cave area. The game is supposed to have eight different worlds so it should be excititng to see each one.

Nintendo

Q:Hello I think that the new Donkey Kong game looks cool. I think rare made this game to make a lot of cash. Because as you said it will beat Zelda in size and sales that's why I think Nintendois now making Zelda Gaiden. I think nintendo is making it for the purpose of once againmaking more money. What do you think?
-mattox

A: I think that any video game is made to make money. But is also made for the players pleasure. It seems like Nintendo is making one good game after another. With DK64 and then Zelda Gaiden nintendo is going to keep out doing it's last game. But is there really a problem with that?

Downloads

Q:I just made some DK desktop wallpaper. Would you like it for your download section?
-Cammi Luna
A:Good question. When ever you have something you want to share with us whether it be a download or a link. E-mail it to Russell or me.

Rumors

Q:Do you know of any more rumors add some

A:We don't have any more rumors than what is in the rumors page. The problem about rumors is we don't always know the info. We will be sure to keep the rumors updated though.

Multi Player Mode

Q: I've heard the multiplayer will have guns. Are those the only weapons? And will it be in 3rd or 1st person POV?
-Darth Ketchup

A:I'm not quite sure what the weapons will be. I am pretty sure you can use fruit grenades and other items like that. I also think the multiplayer will be like the game as in that its third person.

August 4, 1999

Weapons

Q:What are the Kongs weapons?
-Corey

A:Check out the Characters page and it will list the individual Kong weapons. The Kongs can also throw fruit grenades as seen in the movies.

Multi Player Mode

Q:In multi player option how many different guns can you get, and if you can get more then one what are the guns?
-Donkey Kong

A:That answer is unavailable to us at the time. We will just have to wait longer for that kind of info, but I assume each Kong will be able to use their weapon, pick up others, and use grenades.

Images

Q: Is that Krunch in the pics?
-Devin529

A:I'm not sure which pics your talking about, but unless the kremlings have new names it would appear that Krunch is included.

July 20, 1999

DK Name

Q: Have you heard anything about the name of DK64? Will it be DK64 or is that it's name for the time being? My idea for the name is Donkey Kong Island.
-Chaddy Kong

A: I've never answered my own question before, but I've heard that Donkey Kong 64 is the name for the game right now but it is not official yet.

DK Competition

Q: How do you feel about the ever growing competition in the DK website area? Are you intimidated at all, or do you embrace the challenge with open arms?

A: I feel as we creep closer to the release date more great DK sites will appear. I think that competition is a good thing because it creates more and more information to share about DK64. Donkey Kong 64 Central will always embrace the challenge!

Options

Q: In DK64 can you pull out a camera and take a picture? I remembered hearing that somewhere. Is it true or just a rumor?
-Trudy

A: I too heard that. Read the E3 impressions and it should say that you can use a camera. Only time will tell if this feature will be in the final version.

July 12, 1999

Kremlings

Q: I heard in DK64 you can't defeat a kremling by jumping on it's head. Have you heard anything about that? Also do you know if there will be any RPG elements (simular to DKC3)?
-Chad

A: I also remember hearing that somewhere but if you look at the movie on my page called "Gigantic Chunky Roaming Around," you can see at the end he jumps on a kremling and it kills it. I assume by RPG elements you mean where you had to buy stuff and trade it to get places. I think DK64 will have some of that.

Rare and Dolphin

Q: When are Rare releasing more news on DK64, what is the storyline behind DK64 and have there been any games confirmed for Nintendos new console? Mark Davidson

A: Rare is not known to relaese much information on their games and it probably won't be any different for DK64. They may release more information of the story or the different worlds somtime. So far, the only copnfirmed games that I know of are Rare's Mickey Mouse games. You can be sure that the system will launch will a Mario game and then there will be a Zelda and DK games for that system later on.

July 8, 1999

Release Date

Q: When is DK64 being relieced?
-John Symington

A: Donkey Kong 64 is schedueled to be released on November 22, 1999. It looks like Rare is going to meet this release date.

Where Are the Games?

Q: Nintendo are notorious for making their consumers wait for heavily anticipated games and even hardware, and usually when these anticipated games do make it on the shelves they fall short of what consumers expected. I am still in question why I purchased a N64 seeing as they hardly bring any games out for it. No wonder Zelda was their "make or break" game seeing as they made everyone wait for what seemed years and lucky it was good. Anyway here's my question... surely the people down at Rare should have a few tricks up their sleeves seeing as it's taken them four years to finally get DK on the N64. I really believe that Nintendo players are sick of playing these 3D based games, sure Nintendo have the advantage over playstation in this area but it seems that all Nintendo developers are doing this, Zelda, Golden eye, Mario64, Banjo-Kazooie, Starshot, Gex 64, Glover, need I say more. I think that rare are sitting on their asses seeing as they couldn't come up with anymore that another 3D based game. I think that when DK country came out on the SNES it was the biggest development in gaming history, no one thought that that could be done on a 16-meg cart. To really make an impact on the the gaming world Rare should, as rare could only do, push the N64 to it's absolute limits and show that the N64 is still up there with the Dreamcast. As Nintendo promised so many years ago...where are our silicon graphics? When is DK64 coming to Australia? And is this all the alleged N64 can produce as far as graphics are concerned?( Still doing the polygon Graphics thing on every single game!!!!) Prove me wrong...and explain some of these things to me if you can.
Thanks for your time.
Yours sincerely,
Sam Page

A: I agree with you that it does take a long time for Nintendo and other developers to make games for the Nintendo 64. It's mostly because the Nintendo 64 is much more difficult and time consuming to make games for than the PSX for example. The longer wiat does usually result in bigger and better games and a lot of the games are definately worth the wait. Luckily, Nintendo has said that Project Dolphin will have a much shorter development time, but for the time being, we'll just have to wait longer for the good games. Now, about DK64. Rare has realized that poeple want games that aren't just 3D platformers because there are already so many of them as you stated in your question. That is why they made it more that a 3D platformer. There are many levels such as the minecart levels, the racing levels, and the first-person barrel shooting levels that are not 3D levels. Also, there are a lot of minigames throughout the game. There is even a multiplayer mode when you get tired of the 1-player adventure. I think DK64 will be a huge game. As for pushing the N64 to its limits, I think some of the upcoming games like DK64 and Perfect Dark are going to push the N64 to its limits. That's why Nintendo is coming out with a new system, hopefully by the end of 2000, because the Nintendo 64 is to its limit and they need more. I'm not sure exaclty when DK64 will be relaesed in Australia but I think it will be about the same time as in the US and Japan. I hope that explains some of what you asked.
